In value terms, the largest power tool markets in the Middle East were Turkey ($291M), the United Arab Emirates ($190M) and Kuwait ($69M), together comprising 65% of the total market.

Turkey, with a CAGR of +8.1%, recorded the highest growth rate of market size among the main consuming countries over the period under review, while market for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The countries with the highest levels of power tool per capita consumption in 2024 were the United Arab Emirates (518 units per 1000 persons), Kuwait (261 units per 1000 persons) and Turkey (92 units per 1000 persons).

Over the period under review, production reached the maximum volume at 1.5M units in 2022; however, from 2023 to 2024, production stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, power tool production expanded remarkably to $85M in 2024 estimated in export price. In general, production posted a strong expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 98%. Over the period under review, production attained the peak level at $94M in 2022; however, from 2023 to 2024, production stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Kuwait (1.2M units) remains the largest power tool producing country in the Middle East, comprising approx. 80% of total volume. Moreover, power tool production in Kuwait exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest producer, Bahrain (286K units), fourfold.

From 2013 to 2024, the average annual growth rate of volume in Kuwait stood at +9.2%.

Power tool imports stood at 19M units in 2024, with an increase of 12% on the previous year. Overall, imports posted a buoyant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 43%. The volume of import peaked in 2024 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, power tool imports skyrocketed to $720M in 2024. Total imports indicated perceptible growth from 2013 to 2024: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.3% over the last eleven years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2024 figures, imports increased by +13.9% against 2021 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 43%. The level of import peaked in 2024 and is likely to continue growth in the near future.

Turkey (8.2M units) and the United Arab Emirates (5.5M units) prevails in imports structure, together making up 73% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Iraq (1.6M units), Iran (1.3M units) and Saudi Arabia (0.9M units), together committing a 20% share of total imports. Israel (745K units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2013 to 2024, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by Turkey (with a CAGR of +9.2%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Turkey ($291M), the United Arab Emirates ($160M) and Saudi Arabia ($73M) constituted the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2024, with a combined 73% share of total imports.

Saudi Arabia, with a CAGR of +7.1%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In-hand motor grinders, sanders and planers was the main imported product with an import of around 12M units, which amounted to 60% of total imports. It was distantly followed by drills of all kinds for working in the hand, with self-contained electric motor (6.1M units) and saws for working in the hand, with self-contained electric motor (1.6M units), together constituting a 40% share of total imports.

From 2013 to 2024, the biggest increases were recorded for in-hand motor grinders, sanders and planers (with a CAGR of +6.8%), while purchases for the other products experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, in-hand motor grinders, sanders and planers ($425M), drills of all kinds for working in the hand, with self-contained electric motor ($228M) and saws for working in the hand, with self-contained electric motor ($64M) constituted the products with the highest levels of imports in 2024.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major imported products. In 2024, the product with the highest price was saws for working in the hand, with self-contained electric motor ($39 per unit), while the price for in-hand motor grinders, sanders and planers ($36 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

In 2024, the import price in the Middle East amounted to $38 per unit, growing by 10% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a mild curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when the import price increased by 23% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $58 per unit. From 2016 to 2024, the import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Israel ($89 per unit), while Iraq ($28 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

After three years of decline, overseas shipments of power tools increased by 61% to 525K units in 2024. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a pronounced descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 77% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 1.1M units. From 2021 to 2024, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, power tool exports skyrocketed to $39M in 2024. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when exports increased by 42%. The level of export peaked at $50M in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2024, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Turkey (281K units) and the United Arab Emirates (213K units) prevails in exports structure, together constituting 94% of total exports. The following exporters - Palestine (11K units) and Jordan (9K units) - each finished at a 3.9% share of total exports.

In value terms, Turkey ($23M), the United Arab Emirates ($13M) and Palestine ($839K) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2024, with a combined 95% share of total exports.

Among the main exporting countries, Turkey, with a CAGR of +7.9%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major exporting countries. In 2024, major exporting countries recorded the following prices: in Turkey ($81 per unit) and Jordan ($75 per unit), while the United Arab Emirates ($62 per unit) and Palestine ($74 per unit) were amongst the lowest.
